Cloud Voice FAQ

Is there any downtime for my business while the switch happens?

Cloud Voice is easy to install and transition your voice capability to the cloud.

You may require some network setting changes, but Sure has a team of consultants and engineers who will work with you to transition your service.

Either way, we will work with you to ensure that if any disruption to your service could occur that it is coordinated with you and managed appropriately.

Are Cloud voice technologies less secure than using a traditional line?

Our Cloud Voice solution is hosted securely in the cloud. All data is encrypted and two factor authentication is standard.

Do I need to invest in new phones to benefit?

If you choose a cloud-hosted solution your mobile and any computer or laptop you have will work fine, all you need to do is download an app. Your desktop handsets may be compatible (we can advise you) or if not, we have a full range of handsets available.

We would conduct a site survey and give you an accurate proposal based on your situation so you have total peace of mind.

Do I need to change my telephone number?

In the Isle of Man and Guernsey, no, you can use your existing numbers. In Jersey unfortunately the situation is slightly more complicated so please contact us to discuss your options.

Do I have enough bandwidth to use Cloud Voice?

You’ll be adding voice traffic to your current data traffic so it’s possible you might need to upgrade your bandwidth for the best performance. We can help you evaluate this and as we are a leading provider of connectivity, take care of that for you.
